How can I use Caction App in Areas with Unstable Internet Connection?

While it is crucial for Caction Users to have a stable internet connection whenever they are accessing the app, we do understand that there are times where the staffs will need to perform tasks in areas with less stable internet connection.

But with our app, it can work both online and offline too. Facing poor reception, yet you'd like to access your jobs list, upload images and provide work updates? With our app - you can. Cached data allows users to access key information needed for jobs, so every job can be completed efficiently and without a worry.

How does it work?

The app uses cache files in order to keep some of the data on the device for ease of loading the files. While this helps with the app performance, it also helps in keeping data being logged in the app even though the device itself is not connected to the internet at the moment.

What Should I Do?

You should open the app at least once before entering an area with poor or no internet connection. Ideally, do this just before heading into such locations so the cached data is as up to date as possible. This ensures you have the latest information — for example, if you last opened the app yesterday, you wouldn’t see a job created today unless the app was refreshed beforehand.

When the system detects that a page has been loading for 30 seconds, a prompt will appear informing you that the connection is not optimal. From here, you can manually switch the app to Offline Mode so you can continue working without internet access.

Once you switch to Offline Mode, the app will display a grey banner at the top of the screen to indicate that you are now in Offline Mode.

From here, you can keep using the app as usual as it will access all the data that was cached on the device itself as well as storing any new data on the cache for it to upload later.

Once you have reconnected to a more stable internet connection, all data and items that you have uploaded in the system will automatically sync and will show up properly in the system.
